Is it permissible to eat food prepared by non-Muslims?
Based on the Quranic over-arching principle of dignity and nobility of human beings (Quran 17:70), all human beings are inherently ritually pure and therefore, it is permissible to consume food they prepare (provided it is halal). The dignity and nobility of all human beings is further supported by the traditions of the Prophet, his family, and his companions (Qur’an 5:5). The traditions that indicate the ritual impurity of non-Muslims essentially allude to accidental impurity resulting due to their consumption of impure substances.
